why seasons are no longer relevant
We blew your mind with white after Labor Day and no pantyhose, but there’s more! As your wardrobe is concerned, the seasons no longer matter in fashion.
You can now wear open-toe shoes all year long. Scandalous! Open-toe, high-heeled sandals are dressy and sexy, and you can and should, if you’re comfortable, wear them whenever you get dressed up to go out at night. We’re not advising you to run around all day in the freezing winter in open-toe sandals. If you are going to a holiday party, wedding, or dinner party, feel free to show off your pedicure!
So wear open-toe sandals in winter and boots in summer. You’re getting the hang of it. Boots with skirts and dresses are all the rage—especially with light cotton dresses. Wearing boots with a dress smoothes the transition from winter to summer. Boots provide balance and warmth when it’s not quite hot enough for a lightweight dress and sandals. Even in summer, boots are a great style choice and hip alternative.
Have you seen photos of celebs wearing scarves around their necks even in the middle of the summer? This too has become widely acceptable and very fashionable. A scarf is a perfect accent piece, a great way to spice up your outfit and express your personal style. More than keeping you warm, scarves are a fashion statement. Worried you’ll be too hot? Wrap it around more loosely and let it drape. You’ll get all of the fashion and none of the faint. Again, this is a style choice, and it may not be your choice. We just want you to know you have options.
Having choices is always harder than not having them, but it makes fashion a lot more fun. You’ve always had a rebellious side. Rules were made to be broken, and now you can do just that.
